Patriotism - Chico Chapter, NSDAR, Daughters regularly participate in Memorial Day and Veterans Day ceremonies in local communities in Butte County by placing beautiful, patriotic wreaths. We honor the service of past DAR members by adding flags to their grave markers for Memorial Day weekend as well as helping with flags for veterans' markers. We promote Constitution Week and participate in 9/11 ceremonies in September. We have presented flags to youth and civic groups, including Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, veterans, the Chico and Paradise libraries, and area schools. Each year, we participate in DAR Project Patriot in some way, filling boxes to send to active duty soldiers or gathering food to give to the local Veterans Food Bank. In the past, we participated in "Wreaths Across America" with the Sons of the American Revolution.  

Preservation - Chico Chapter, NSDAR, Daughters contributed to the Veterans Memorial Wall in the downtown City Plaza. We contributed to the preservation of the historic Bidwell Mansion. We have provided speakers on the DAR Museum collections, and we sponsor and participate in ongoing conservation projects and activities. We have made donations to preserve the National DAR Headquarters and to repair and maintain the California State Society DAR (CSSDAR) Headquarters in Glendora, California. The Willows Chapter, NSDAR, before merging with the Chico Chapter, NSDAR, contributed to the preservation of the Bayliss Library, the only rural Carnegie Library in the United States, and also contributed bricks to the patio at the California State Society DAR Headquarters.

Education - Chico Chapter, NSDAR, Daughters sponsor the DAR Good Citizens Essay contest yearly. We have honored the outstanding graduate of our local Naval Sea Cadets program in past years. 

Chico Chapter, NSDAR, is actively involved in DAR's missions and goals, providing services to our local communities.
